| The Bolingbrook Fire Fighter's Honor Guard was formed in February of 1996 with 6 members. All of the members of the Bolingbrook Fire Fighter's Honor Guard are members of the Associated Fire Fighter's of Illinois Honor Guard. These members are dedicated to those fire fighter's who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The Bolingbrook Honor Guard members annually partake in the Illinois Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial and Medal of Honor Ceremony held every May in Springfield. Additionally, members of the Honor Guard have participated in the International Association of Fire Fighter's Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, every year since the unit was founded. Members of the unit participate in other functions, such as the Village of Bolingbrook's annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Veterans Day Ceremony.
Members of the Honor Guard have been to services throughout the nation for our fallen brothers. Members have given their time to attend services in Worcester, Ma., New York City, NY., Colorado, Indiana, South Carolina and throughout Illinois. Each and every member of the unit finds it a honor to participate in this solemn process.
The current Honor Guard consists of 15 members and keeps on growing. Members of the Local unit also continue to advance on the State level. Mike Newton became Commander of the 8th District (the pipes and drums)in 2009. Joe Baumgartner was appointed the Parliamentarian/Secretary of the AFFI Honor Guard in 2009. Several members have also decided to endure further training in Bagpipes and Drums. Congratulations to them on their successes.
Each member of the Bolingbrook Fire Fighter's Honor Guard proudly serves these organizations and will always be ready when called upon for a fallen brother or sister. |

| The Local 3005 Political Action committee is involved in many local and state political scenes. They have made important contacts in both the state house and local government offices. It is important to maintain an open line of communication with the elected officals. Through the work of the Local 3005 PAC and the AFFI PAC, many fire fighter friendly bills have been enacted into law.
